Responsibilities:

• Develop procedures for testing secure optical communication systems.
• Set up and characterise optical communication systems to prove error free functionality and conformity to design standards.
• Isolating, diagnosing and fixing problems.
• Providing technical support to other departments, customers and strategic partners.
• Documenting test procedures, process improvements and test results.
• Installation and testing of equipment at customer locations in UK and abroad.

Mandatory requirement:

• Degree level qualification in Electronic Engineering, Physics, Electronics, Computer Science or a related discipline
• Experience of successful experimental/practical work
• Ability to work analytically and to solve problems efficiently
• Good communication skills, both written and verbal
• Ability to work individually or as a team member 

Desirable:

• Experience of digital electronics or fibre optic systems
• Familiarity with Linux operation system
