Responsibilities:

• Building and testing fibre optic sub-assemblies and systems.
• Improving product designs to improve the manufacturing process.
• Developing new processes to improve efficiency or product quality
• Advising on the selection of new components or new test methodology
• Writing assembly and test reports and contributing to the technical file

Essential requirements

• Significant electronic assembly experience, with a degree level or vocational qualification in electrical or optical engineering preferred.
• Excellent understanding of engineering drawings and manufacturing processes
• Ability to be pro-active and use initiative
• Keen attention to detail and high levels of accuracy
• Ability to take ownership of projects and deliver to completion, within agreed timescales
• Good communication skills, both written and verbal
• Able to work individually or as a team member 

Desirable:

• Experience of working with optical or fibre optic devices
• Familiarity with Linux operation system
