​​​​​​Toshiba Europe Limited has pioneered the development of quantum communication systems over the past decade, setting new standards for quantum cryptography and data security. We have  recently launched a new business division in the UK to commercialise our world leading QKD technology

Due to continued growth we seek a Key Account Manager for our Quantum Technology business division.  He or she will be responsible for developing business opportunities with targeted customers and key partners in the EMEA region, supported by the technical and management teams in Cambridge, UK.  This is an  opportunity to drive market growth in dynamic and exciting new business, supported by one of the best known companies in digital electronics and services.  ​​​​​​​

Key responsibilities:

  • Identify and engage with target accounts to understand their objectives and business drivers for quantum cryptography and to communicate the Toshiba value proposition accordingly
  • Create and own the account plan and sales strategy for target accounts, work closely with local and virtual Toshiba technical and supporting teams to deliver strategic deployments, business partnerships and sales
  • Identify and engage with potential Toshiba business partners to develop partnerships, business plans, agreements and sales
  • Work with Toshiba global technical marketing and marcom teams to develop market awareness, formulate our market positioning and develop key messages for partners/customers
  • Track status and progress of projects with customers and partners. Sustain key customer relationships and be the advocate of the customer within Toshiba
  • Reporting directly to the head of the business division based in the UK and liaising with the business development teams in Japan and US.​​​​​​​​​​​​​​

Mandatory requirements:

  • Proven track record in business development and sales of high value, complex sales cycle infrastructure deployments into tier 1 operators
  • Extensive knowledge of fibre optic communication, operator networks and/or IT security systems. 
  • Degree level qualification in Engineering or Business-related subject.
  • Exceptional communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Ability to qualify an opportunity along with the customers business objectives
  • Strong organisational skills with attention to detail.
  • Ability to work with many teams and individuals across the organisation.


Preferable:

  • Experience of business development in the telecom or IT security sectors.
  • Previous formal sales training (e.g. Target Account Selling, MEDDIC) ​​​​​​​
