I have been a Toshiba employee for over 4 years and have progressed within my role. It has been a very rewarding experience so far. I get to meet such a wide variety of people both internal and external and my role encompasses lots of different projects which means I am out of the office almost as much as I am in! I also have plenty of opportunities to learn from colleagues but I am also encouraged to attend development opportunities externally.
I started my career at Toshiba in 2006 and my first job was as an account manager for document solutions. Within the first years, I was able to develop my sales skills and contribute to the success of Toshiba in The Netherlands. After many years of sales, I began to focus on consultative selling and became a Consultant within our Managed Document Services program. Since April 2018, I am responsible for solution sales. New challenges and being able to develop yourself is of key importance to me. So yes, Toshiba offers a lot of opportunities to build on your career. Every customer has his own requirements and that makes my work both diverse and challenging. I chose to work at Toshiba because I would like to work in the IT sector. I see it as a challenge to become better in all what I do and to achieve good results. This, and the atmosphere at Toshiba, is what I like most. The solutions business of Toshiba has a lot of growth potential and it is nice to be a part of it.
I have been with Toshiba Africa for 3 and half years managing Hard Disk Drive business development in South Africa and SADC (Southern Africa Development Community) countries. I work closely with our distributors and customers and keep being active in the market is important part of my job. I love meeting and interacting with people through my work. Toshiba is recognised as a strong brand with long history and good quality products and I am dedicated to promote this brand and develop more opportunities in this region.
