Job Description
The GIS Fitter is responsible to plan and execute complex technical field assignments involving the installation/modification of GIS equipment’s. The individual must possess extensive experience in installation, maintenance, modification and treatment works of HV GIS equipment’s.

FUNCTIONAL FOCUS:
Plan and execute complex technical field assignments involving the installation and modification of GIS equipment’s.
Ensure compliance with the installation instructions and requirements.
Ability to prepare work method statements for site works, daily, weekly status reports of site works, and jobs in coordination with GIS Engineers OR site engineers and the concerned department manager.
Responsible for red-mark drawings and documentation of changes or modifications throughout the installation process.
Possess comprehensive experience in the substation field for the installation of all rating of GIS equipment’s.
Carry out the treatment works for all ratings of GIS equipment’s.
Install panels and control cable terminations.
Install the equipment’s by utilizing factory installation & instruction drawings instead of co-ordinations.
Produce regular reports on the condition of the GIS equipment.
Document and report the completed installations and maintenance activities in the form of quality checklists, and work process.
Assist in the planning and coordination of GIS installation activities at site.
Attend all periodical site meetings with the site/project team, and other contractors related to the works.
Ensure that the necessary accident prevention measures are put in place.
Adhere to the safety protocols and system safety rules to ensure a safe working environment.
Perform other tasks assigned by the management essential to fulfill the job requirements.
Stay up to date with the latest advancements in transmission and distribution technologies and sustainable energy solutions.
Contribute to R&D efforts in grid optimization, energy storage integration, and renewable energy solutions.
Produce comprehensive reports on the condition of the GIS equipment.
Prepare and submit the weekly progress reports to the Senior GIS Engineer, detailing the status of ongoing GIS activities at site.
Prepare the necessary inputs for daily, weekly, and monthly progress reporting.
Perform other tasks assigned by the management essential to fulfill the job requirements. QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE
Educational Qualification
Diploma or a Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering.
Experience
A minimum of 5+ years of relevant experience as a GIS Fitter from the energy & power industry in the GCC/UAE.
Previous service experience working with GIS equipment’s.
GIS product knowledge is mandatory.
Ready to travel to different work locations around the MENA region.
SKILLS & KNOWLEDGE
Possess the ability to read & understand the factory installation/instruction drawings as well as relavant Project Engineering drawings.
Troubleshooting and system repairing.
Exceptional understanding of Transmission and distribution safety rules.
Possess experience in MS office applications.
