Toshiba Europe Ltd are at the forefront of innovating novel cryptographic systems that are resistant to future advances in computing and mathematics.   We invite applications for the post of Product Development Manager in the Quantum Technology Division of Toshiba Europe Limited based in Cambridge.  The successful candidate will be responsible for managing the development of current and future products and services in the Quantum Technology Division.  This is an opportunity to join a dynamic and world leading start up, supported by one of the best known companies in digital electronics and services. 

Responsibilities:

  • Project management of product development in the Quantum Technology Division
  • Compiling and understanding the requirements of customers, strategic partners and other stakeholders
  • Defining the scope, deliverables and milestones of development projects
  • Evaluating and optimising the technical feasibility, performance and manufacturability of new product designs
  • Co-ordinating the day-to-day activities of the product development team
  • Managing external suppliers and outsourcers
  • Overall responsibility for documentation of product development and processes
  • Managing project budgets and preparing financial analysis reports for top management


Mandatory requirements:

  • Degree level qualification in Electronic Engineering, Physics or related discipline.
  • At least five years of experience in the development of commercial electronic products.
  • Successful track record in managing R&D projects and staff.
  • Ability to assimilate new technologies quickly. 
  • Possess outstanding decision-making aptitude while at the same time working efficiently under time pressures.
  • Ability to lead a large project team with a diverse set of skills.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal with all levels of staff and customers up to board level.


Desirable:

  • Successful track record of product development in the telecommunications or photonics industry
  • Experience of ISO9001 quality management
  • Knowledge of regulatory compliance and standards
